Not to be Missed! Yoga Retreat in the Heart of Sri Lanka's cultural triangle

Vanessa Morton and Jim’s Farm Villas are delighted to offer an amazing 10-day Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga and Ayurvedic Spa Break in the lush heart of Sri Lanka's cultural triangle.

The owners, Kevin and Janet Abbott bought a derelict coconut farm just over 8 years ago and have developed it as a diverse 50 acre organic fruits and spice farm for the benefit of their guests and the local community. Most of the fruit, spices and vegetables are grown on the farm. They opened the Boutique hotel on the farm 4 years ago.

Whether a total beginner wanting to improve flexibility and general fitness, or an advanced yoga student looking to deepen practice, Vanessa Morton, who has been teaching Yoga for over 14 years, is dedicated to meet each individual’s needs. Her classes are alignment based Vinyasa Flow taken from the YogaWorks method.

You will practice relaxation and breathing techniques to help reduce stress levels and promote balance in body and mind, so you will leave Jim’s Farm Villas feeling calmer, fitter and more energised.

There are also wonderful day trips to the major Cultural Triangle sites as part of the programme including Kandy Temple, Sigiriya Rock Fortress and Dambulla Rock Temple.

Travelling isn't always about the distance, but about escaping routine....
To celebrate the launch of Travel Geek, Yurts in Cyprus are offering 10% discount to the first 10 people to book online at yurtsincyprus.com! Just enter 'Travel Geek' in the voucher code on the booking
The perfect winter getaway, the yurts are set in the picturesque hills of Sarama Valley. Spend time exploring the beautiful countryside or just relax and enjoy the scenery from your private decking while the wood burner firing inside makes your yurt the cosiest of retreats.
Individuals, couples or families with children and pets are all welcome with warm hearts to stay at these authentic Mongolian Yurts, each with its own private terrace with panoramic vista, a wood burner, a king-size bed with baby-soft linen and a private bathroom with toiletries and fluffy towels.
They provide breakfast, dinner (optional), an “honesty” mini-bar with soft drinks and alcohol. Complimentary tea/coffee and bottled water are also available. There are huge grounds that blend with the surrounding hills and a yoga deck. There is a communal lounge and a kitchen at the Straw House.
The yurts are open all year round and you can book for as little as one night on their website:

I have been looking at putting together a package for Baku Grand Prix.
The prices have shot up over New Year so we have missed the boat on decent hotels/rates for 2017. Once the preliminary dates for 2018 are announced I will be putting together a package, based on return flights (probably from Ercan North Cyprus as the connections are better), visa, accommodation and tickets to the Grand Prix itself.
To give you an idea….At the end of last year a 4 night package would work out at approx. €900 pp including flights, visa, 3/4* hotel (based on 2 sharing room) and 4 day pass to one of the secondary grandstands, or approx. €1200 pp including flights, visa, 5* hotel (based on 2 sharing room) plus 4 day pass for the main grandstand.
As well as the race itself, Baku city has been described as the architectural love child of Paris and Dubai, where the Unesco listed old walled medieval city meets oil funded jaw-dropping skyscrapers, dotted with a few remaining relics from the Soviet era. The city is buzzing with culture, restaurants and nightlife.
If you have longer to stay you could pay a visit to the world’s only crude oil spa in Naftalan, situated 320 km north-west of Baku. Naftalan oil’s magical properties were discovered way back in the 5th century BC. Complex SPA treatment, including world's unique crude oil bath, lasts 3-4 hours. Visitors lie naked in a pool of oil up to their neck and relax. The oils claim to heal about 70 diseases, including: joint problems, neurological diseases, skin conditions, fungus, and impotence!!
Register your interest now for Asia’s Wild West 2018 F1 street race by commenting below or emailing travelgeek@gmx.com and feel free to share with any friends who might be interested. I will contact you when the 2018 dates are released with up to date package prices….Gedək!!
